William Balfour, the primary suspect in the slaying of Jennifer Hudson‘s family, is scheduled for a parole hearing this morning (November 10) to see if he will be forced to stay behind bars or set free.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the 27 year-old ex-love interest to Hudson’s sister, Julia, is currently being held at Stateville Correctional Center after authorities discovered he violated his parole when being questioned for his involvement in the Hudson murders.
He will stand before the Illinois Prisoner Review Board as they review any evidence that illustrates a violation of parole for his 1999 attempted murder conviction. The preliminary hearing will also give Balfour an opportunity to rebut any material used against him in hopes of being granted permission to leave prison as early as today or face more time behind bars awaiting more hearings.
While an official confession has yet to develop, law enforcement officials claim Balfour has admitted to being near the Hudson home the morning when the singer’s mother, Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and seven year-old nephew, Julian King were gunned down.
Balfour’s girlfriend has reportedly informed police officials that he has confessed to being involved in the murders.
He will remain in prison until a decision has been determined this morning.
As previously reported by SOHH, the Academy Award winning singer lost her three family members on October 24.
