Roc Nation’s J. Cole and longtime pal Kendrick Lamar have teamed up to release a pair of new tracks this Friday (November 27).
The hip-hop duo released a couple tracks appropriately titled “Black Friday” on Twitter.

Last September, a leaked Cole and Lamar album cover surfaced online and sparked rumors of a joint release coming together.
Earlier this month, Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive album reached platinum status.
Last week the album sold 2,583 copies without streams which means that it is now platinum without SPS. Congrats! Streaming is definitely going to become a huge part of music, especially with the new artist-owned TIDAL service which J. Cole is a part of amongst others. Congratulations to J. Cole and the entire Dreamville team! (HHNM)
A few months ago, Cole talked about the risk factor of releasing the album with little promotion.
“To put the album out the way I did, I had to come to grips with myself that it might flop. I knew it was my best but I didn’t know if no singles or no promotion would be a risk. I had to tell myself, ‘This album could potentially come out and sell terribly — are you gonna be okay with that? Is that worth people hearing it at one time and doing no singles?’” (“The Combat Jack Show”)
Fuck that Drake & Future bullshit, this would be a real mixtape
Aww man. These dudes is dope af.
