Super Tuesday: Plies, Keyshia Cole, Jamie Foxx And Soulja Boy Battle For Shelf Space For New Albums

New releases from Plies, Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em, Keyshia Cole and Jamie Foxx land in retail stores today (December 16) to battle it out for chart position.

Known for making national hits with mega stars like Ne-Yo and T-Pain, Fort Myers, Florida-bred rapper Plies returns with his third album Da REAList and recently revealed to SOHH the thinking behind the project’s title.

“A lot of people that follow me from my core audience, from my mixtape days up until now has always kinda categorized me as the realest in their opinion,” Plies told SOHH. “It was kinda my salute back to all my core audience who followed me for so many years.”

Following his summer 2008 release, Definition of Real, the Southern emcee’s new disc is led by the single “Put it On Ya,” and features appearances by Ashanti, Sean Garrett and Chris J.

Teenage rap star Soulja Boy will battle the contagious “sophomore jinx” with his second offering, iSouljaBoyTellEm. Soulja Boy previously told SOHH what hip-hop heads could expect this time around.

“Basically, my flow just got stupid, I just started enhancing more and more every time I went into the studio,” Soulja Boy told SOHH. “So basically every track my flow is just on. I’m just riding the whole beat perfectly.”

The Atlanta emcee tagged along a variety of rap stars for the new project including T.I.,Gucci Mane, Shawty Lo, Yo Gotti and Bow Wow.

R&B superstar Keyshia Cole returns for her third album, A Different Me, led by the hit song “Playa Cardz Right,” featuring the late Tupac Shakur. Showcasing production by Ron Fair,Tank, Polow Da Don plus The Runners, Cole’s new project features vocals from Nas, Monica and Amina Harris.

Another notable R&B release this week is Jamie Foxx’s Intuition which is catching a popular radio buzz from the song “She Got Her Own,” featuring Ne-Yo and Fabolous.

Following-up his multi-platinum 2005 release, Unpredictable, Foxx relies on beats by Timbaland, Tricky Stewart, No I.D. and more plus appearances by T.I., Lil’ Wayne, T-Pain, Kanye West and more.
