Details of Knight’s decision to drop his million dollar case against West landed online over the weekend.

Rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight has dropped an appeal in a lawsuit he filed against hip-hop star Kanye West over a 2005 shooting in Miami. Knight’s attorney filed the dismissal last month in Miami federal court. The judge had granted a summary judgment in November for West and his companies, but Knight appealed the decision in December. Knight was seeking millions of dollars in damages from West. Knight was shot in the leg at a 2005 Miami Beach party hosted by West, whom Knight blames for lax security. The shooter has never been identified and the case is unsolved. The judge concluded there was no evidence that a shooting at the party was foreseeable. Both sides have reached a confidential agreement to settle court costs. (Mercury News)

In November, Knight appealed a judge’s decision to toss out the case.

Reports claimed the suit was removed from court days prior.

A federal judge in Miami has tossed out a lawsuit filed by rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight against hip-hop star Kanye West over a 2005 shooting. In Thursday’s order, the judge concluded there’s no evidence that a shooting at the party was foreseeable. The case was set for trial next month. West’s attorney, Adam Josephs, says the suit was ill-conceived from the beginning, adding he was gratified the court agreed. (Associated Press)

The suit originally showed Knight accussing West of lacking ample security at an event, which ultimately led to him suffering a gunshot wound.

Knight was suing West for damages for the August ’05 shooting at Miami Beach’s Shore Club, claiming the club and West didn’t provide enough security. The party, which was thrown before the MTV Video Music Awards, was also attended by A-listers Jessica Alba, Eddie Murphy, The Black Eyed Peas and Paris Hilton. The shooting was never solved.
