Former Death Row Records head Marion “Suge” Knight is reportedly a strong force delaying plans for a biopic based on hip-hop group Dogg Pound.
According to DP’s Daz Dillinger, Suge is holding up the film’s progress.
You can tell Daz is PISSED — he drops a few profanities — because several parties, including Suge, are trying to block him from using his music in the flick. He insists he owns the rights, and he’s ready to fight for them.
“Dogg Pound 4 Life” would pick up where “Straight Outta Compton” left off … focusing on the rise of Death Row Records, which got folded into eOne Music when Suge had to sell. (TMZ)
Daz unleashed a slew of actors and the hip-hop stars they would portray in the biopic on social media last month.
According to reports, one of Daz’s inspirations came from a memorable studio session with late hip-hop artist 2Pac.
The pic below, showing all the actors, was shot over the weekend at an L.A. recording studio. Daz got them all together to shoot a scene, where Suge, Tupac and Daz record “Ambitionz Az a Ridah,” and “I Ain’t Mad at Cha” in a 24-hour period. (TMZ)
Dillinger has also reminded fans his movie is not a sequel to the hit N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton.

The only Deathrow story the public wants is the Suge Knight/2 Pac story. A movie focusing on those 2 would do greater numbers than Straight Outta Comprton. I don’t care for Suge or Pac because of the negativity both used for profit but a Dogg Pound movie is pretty secondary in my honest opinion. I heard Daz did a lot of the work over there but his brand isn’t strong enough.

I’m not gonna hate on a man out there trying to get money, but I only want a movie on Death row. Straight out of Compton should be followed by a biopic of Death row the rise and fall.
Yeah there needs to be a flick focused on Deathrow.
