Former Death Row Records owner Marion "Suge" Knight can breathe a sigh of relief with reports claiming a February drug possession accusation has now been dropped.
According to reports, a lack of sufficient evidence forced prosecutors to fall back on pursuing further legal action.
Rap music mogul Marion “Suge” Knight has been cleared of a marijuana possession allegation stemming from a February traffic stop in Las Vegas. An aide to Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said Wednesday that prosecutors decided there was insufficient evidence to charge the 47-year-old former Death Row Records executive. (KTNV)
Rather than face jail time or a nasty courtroom face-off, Knight’s punishment resulted in a small fine.
Knight, who is already serving three years unsupervised probation for a separate driving count, was also caught in possession of marijuana. However, the star has managed to avoid jail and has instead been slapped with a $425 fine. All other charges have been dismissed. (KSN News)

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: Suge Knight’s in trouble again. The erstwhile Death Row Records impresario was popped in Las Vegas on Wednesday for drug possession during a routine traffic stop. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police tell E! News that Knight (full name Marion Knight Jr.) was pulled over at approximately 5:30 p.m. yesterday when he made an unsafe lane change. Officers ran his name through the system and discovered that he had several bench warrants out for his arrest. (E! Online)
Due to a rack of traffic violations on record, police were forced to arrest Knight.
Rap mogul Suge Knight was taken into custody by Las Vegas cops on Wednesday after they discovered an outstanding warrant on his record during a traffic stop. Knight was pulled over by police for making an unsafe lane change and while reviewing his details, the cops were alerted to a request for his immediate arrest stemming from minor traffic violations. The 46 year old, who was also found to be carrying marijuana, was taken to a nearby jail for processing and released. (Chron)
