According to reports, a Philadelphia judge warned Meek about name-dropping the district attorney in his raps.

Rapper Meek Mill, whose real name is Robert Williams, was in court today for a prior gun and drug conviction. Lou Savino, attorney for Williams, tells Fox 29 that today’s appearance is for a status hearing on that previous charge. The defendant was paroled to House Arrest, which is completed, and now is on probation. Williams has to go to court every 3 to 6 months to make sure he is in compliance. William’s song called, “The Ride” mentions mentions the D.A. that is handling his case. In court, the judge warned the rapper not to mention the D.A. in his lyrics. (My Fox Philly)

Assistant D.A. Noel Ann DeSantis specifically placed extra emphasis on Meek’s content.

“Everyone is entitled to free speech, but the defendant obviously has a personal issue with this prosecutor. Lobbing personal insults, it just tries to dissuade the prosecution or dissuade the judge from focusing on the defendants actual actions. He certainly tells his opinion, but when you’re under supervision you have to respect the judge, the prosecutor, the police. (My Fox Philly)

Meek reportedly took aim at the D.A. on his Dreamchasers 2 record, “The Ride.”

On the Dreamchasers 2 cut, Meek expresses his displeasure for having to deal with assistant D.A. Noel Ann DeSantis, rapping, “The D.A. said she hate me but I don’t understand/When I just rocked a show in front of 50,000 fans/I think that b*tch racist, she probably in a clan.” (MTV)

The rapper recently apologized over the content in his “Amen” anthem.

“People find all types of stuff offensive,” Meek told “106 & Park” hosts Rocsi Diaz and Terrence J. “I don’t think no preacher or no church approve of any type of rap music — because rap music, period, is a lot of bad stuff said. But at the end of the day, it’s real life. And me, I wasn’t trying to disrespect no religion or anything like that. My whole family is Christian. I have a half Christian, half Muslim family, the situation, the song, that’s what energy it felt and if anybody feel disrespected, I ain’t do it in that way. And I ain’t drop the song with bad intentions. I did it just because it was a good feeling — that’s the feeling it gave me so I said, ‘Amen, church.’ I didn’t do it with bad intentions at the end of the day.” (“106 & Park”)
