According to Quo, the album will be released when Dre is confident in the project.

“It’s whenever Dre’s ready,” Stat revealed in an interview. “If you want my opinion on it, I think he wants to be confident in what he has to put out as an ensemble piece. Dre is hip-hop in a sense, so hip-hop needs him to put out a great album, ’cause if he doesn’t, it affects all of us — not just what he does, but the whole culture…Dre is just all around a better artist, a better person. Whenever I need advice on anything–my personal life, business, whatever–I go and ask him…He’s very important and he knows that, so he’s not just gonna put out some bullsh*t. You never get that second chance to make that first impression. I think he’s gonna be putting something out real soon.” (Rap-Up)

Dre recently said the studio time he’s dedicated to other artists has further delayed the album.

“Once that sound is right, once that mix is right, it’s a feeling that you get, here — It’s unexplainable,” Dre said about putting together his records. “I have to go out to clubs now…You need to understand what people are listening to. I’m working hard on it. I’m stopping to work on other artists in-between, but the minute it’s done and I feel it right here. I don’t think I’ve done that [perfect] record yet. I’ll know what it is when it comes; I know exactly what it is in my head, but I haven’t done it yet. It’s close…I got some sh*t coming, believe me.” (Guardian)

Dre associate Warren G recently spoke on the album delay and having a possible collaboration on the project.

“Yeah, he gonna drop it, I mean, he’s just, he’s a perfectionist,” Warren promised in an interview. “So when he feels right, that’s when he’s gonna let it go but I think he’s close because when he starts working with Snoop [Dogg], that’s when I know he’s getting down to the wire. Me and him are supposed to do arecord on there, he said as soon as he finds the right record, with the right melody, we’ll do it. So you know, I’m gonna be waiting so if I’m on Detox this time, cool. If not, I think it’ll be something that the world would love to see because it’s never been done, the publicity on it will be huge it’s like ‘Warren G and Dr. Dre doing a song? That’s crazy.'” (Hard Knock TV)

Dre recently admitted that the album would likely not come out until closer to 2011.

A script for another huge push back of the mythical album has been written. Dr. Dre is featured in the Dimedrop section of the March Edition of SLAM Magazine. The interview is mainly about Basketball but as usual, the interviewer Konate Primus couldn’t resist asking the producer about the status of the album. “Well, I’m working on it, but also I’ve been working on other people’s projects; you’ll probably hear something in a year or so.” (Hip Hop N More)
