While a listing of features and producers has yet to emerge, Soulja Boy recently explained the motivation behind his forthcoming project.

“The concept [is] my way of thinking, my logic, my theory on a lot of things,” he said in an interview. “It’s basically my interpretation on life. I’ma tell life stories. I done seen a lot of things in my life. Just to be how young I am, 18 years old, I made my first million at 16. I’m a natural-born hustler. That’s all I do is get money. No matter what situation I’m in, I’ma grind it out, I’ma get to the money, always think positive, always take care of my people, always take care of my family, and I’m gonna make good music. I can give a f*ck about haters. I ain’t going nowhere but to the top.” (Ace Showbiz)

Despite reaching platinum success on his debut album, the rapper’s sophomore project got off to a slow start in sales.

“It really was [disappointing],” he said in the interview about iSouljaBoyTellEm. “My album is turning around now, like, usually, after you have an album that doesn’t do so well, it usually just straight declines, you know what I’m saying? But not mine, my album sales are going up as my single ‘Kiss Me Through The Phone’ is risen up. But I got the number one ringtone in the country right now…I love those ringtones. If the album doesn’t work out, the ringtones will. And that’s the thing about the game that I got on lock.” (Shade 45)

Prior to the album’s release, Soulja Boy spoke with SOHH about stepping up his rhymes for the project.

“I started hopping on songs with like Juelz Santana and Gucci [Mane] and all these different artists and you know they on the verses just killing me,” he said. “I’m like, ‘Oh I gotta come wit it.’…Basically, my flow just got stupid, I just started enhancing more and more every time I went into the studio,” he said. “So basically every track my flow is just on. I’m just riding the whole beat perfectly.” (SOHH)

The rapper is known for speaking his mind and recently revealed his ability to “end careers.”

“You always gonna face different chapters that you go through in life, period, with whatever you’re doing,” he explained in an interview. “Haters come with every job and whatever you’re doing in life, so you just got to do what you do. I just outshined all my haters. I done had beef with a lot of different artists, I done had a lot of artists done had different opinions about my music but at the end of the day though, it’s gonna take a whole lot to stop me. I done ended a lot of n*ggas’ careers, you feel me? And before I get out the game, I’ma cause hell.” (Rolling Out TV)

A release date has not yet been released for The DeAndre Way.
