Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em‘s recent hangouts with Lil Wayne may be part of a bigger story as reports suggest the 22 year-old could be headed to Cash Money Records.
Although nothing has been finalized, buzz has heated up the Internet with photos of SB and Cash Money CEO Birdman circulating.
“S/O. that lil homey@souljaboy Realn*gga do Real thangs. RichGang YMCMB,” Birdman tweeted. So Soulja Boy has been spending some time in Miami and now he has a, “Rich Gang,” tattoo on his face just like Birdman. Could Soulja Boy be making the move to Cash Money? (Real Talk NY)
A couple years ago, Birdman denied trying to sign Soulja to his growing music empire.
“YMCMB busine$$ real talk.I neva tried 2 sign n0b0dy thts already sign 2 s0meb0dy.we d0nt r0ck like tht.I neva tried 2 sign s0ulja.but I respect tha lil h0mey wrk keep getn it$$$$” (Baby’s Twitter)
The rapper previously said Interscope Records was holding up the potential deal.
“I met with Baby and Slim down in Miami,” Soulja said in an interview. “He’s trying to get me to come over to Cash Money…I still got paperwork with Interscope Records, so I’m just trying to figure out what I’ma do. I got a lot of great options on the table — I’ve been a fan of Cash Money since I was young. I’ve been listening to Birdman’s music since I was growing up. I would have never thought.” (Rap-Up)
Over the weekend, Soulja and Young Money’s Lil Wayne clocked in some time together.
Above, you can watch some footage of Lil Wayne practicing a skateboarding trick with Soulja Boy at his TRUKSTOP skate park. Young Jeezy‘s “Lose My Mind” song featuring Plies can also be heard playing in the background. If you didn’t already know, Weezy F Baby recently invited S. Beezy to his Miami crib to chill and skate with him. (Lil Wayne HQ)
