Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em is reminding fans his bond with fellow hip-hop artist Diamond is no fling and addressing recent remarks made by ex-boyfriend Lil Scrappy.
In Soulja Boy’s perspective, anything said about Diamond directly relates to him.
Scrap said he has no beef with Soulja Boy, and SB is also taking the high road. “This is my baby, this is my girl, so anything said about her is basically they’re saying it about me,” he said, holding Diamond’s hand. “I’m backin’ her 100 percent, and we’re just focusing on the positive. Anybody talkin’ about her name on TV, that’s just bringin’ us up more. So salute to them, we wish them the best.” (MTV)
Last week, Scrappy admitted getting his heart crushed after their break-up.
“When that Diamond situation happened, it just taught me a real valuable lesson, ’cause I know, as I can see, I’m not a good judge of character,” he said when he appeared on Wednesday’s (June 20) “RapFix Live.” Scrappy — who put out his first album, Bred 2 Win Born 2 Live, in 2004 with Lil Jon‘s BME and 50 Cent‘s G-Unit labels — was helping his then-girlfriend get her career on track. After the couple broke up, he realized he needed to re-examine his life. “I ain’t never had my little heart broken before, but now that it happened, I don’t think it would happen for a long time,” he said. “But the good side about that is, you don’t put nobody before God, don’t ever put nobody before God, and I think I did a little bit of that trying to help her.” (MTV)
In 2011, Scrappy said they quietly separated before the media found out.
“We ain’t been together so I can’t say nothing, you feel me,” Scrappy said in an interview referring to Diamond. “We keep it closed in, you feel me? When people see that, they observe and see different things. I can’t help what people see…When I see the picture [of them together] it’s like, ‘OK, wow. OK, cool.’ It really don’t do nothing to me. You feel me? … I’m into making money right now and that’s what she was into doing and I guess [Soulja Boy] is into doing. Everybody’s into making money but at the end of the day, you can’t help when two people like each other. You feel me? … I been kicking it with her for a minute but we’ve both been openly dating. I’m sure y’all are gonna see some pictures of some [of my girls]. You feel me? Shorty gotta get her money. However shorty gotta get her money — and shorty is young. Soulja Boy previously opened up about his connection to Diamond.
“Man, I’ve been knowing Diamond for four years; ever since I came on the scene with ‘Crank That.’ She’s been a cool individual and recently we started rocking heavy. Y’all already know (laughs)…Obviously, it’s stuff you gotta deal with when you’re a celebrity and in a relationship in the open. It don’t matter who girl it would’ve been.
