[As we prepare to say goodbye to 2010, SOHH highlights the most outrageous scandals that took place in hip-hop this year, and had everyone glued to their monitors in shock.]
1. Nicki Minaj’s Booty: Real or Plastic? (May 17)
When rapper Nicki Minaj burst onto the scene last year her talent as an artist had a number of people talking, but it seems that another asset of Nicki’s also became a much talked about topic of conversation. In a recent interview with the New York Post, Nicki Minaj speaks on the butt pad/butt implants rumors. “Absolutely not,” said Nicki Minaj when asked about using butt pads or getting implants. “People will pick anything to talk about, and that happens to be the thing at the moment. I love being a conversation piece.” (New Nicki Minaj)
Who’s phony, who’s fake, that’s the question we all asked ourselves repeatedly this year. Unfortunately, while we kept abreast of Nicki Minaj’s lyric, we couldn’t avoid keeping a closer eye on all her junk she puts out there. And we’re not talking about her album.
2. Rick Ross’ SeXXX Tape: Don’t Believe The Hype? (September 23)
Is this 50 Cent up to something? Was sent a link from thisis50.com and they were saying there is a Rick Ross sex tape. I found the mere thought hilarious. I don’t know if Ross would get caught out there like that, but the say there is a “non-nude.” All I can say is that the video is incredibly blurry and it shows a man with a beard with a woman in a dress. Somebody says it may be before the fame Rick Ross has had this far in. IF Ross leaded this himself, it would be genius. LOL! (Illseed)
The idea of seeing Rick Ross in “any” sex tape with “any” woman is just enough to make us throw up inside our mouths. The alleged sex tape footage not only had us laughing but looking at Rick Ross’ Twitter account every minute to see if he would confirm or deny this insanity.
3. Chelsea Handler & 50 Cent: More Than “Best Friends” or “P.I.M.P.”-in The Media? (November 30)
With her usual brand of deadpan humor, talk show host Chelsea Handler discussed her rumored relationship with rapper 50 Cent in an appearance on the Tonight Show Tuesday — although she left a little ambiguity as to whether or not they’re an item. Handler, 35, told Leno they’re just friends, and noted the rapper hasn’t met her family yet. The comic, who recently returned from a lavish weekend in Mexico with pal Jennifer Aniston, joked she “can’t bring 50 Cent with me, because he’s not a strong swimmer.” “It’s Fiddy Cent, isn’t it?” Leno replied. “I don’t know, I call him Curtis when we’re having sex,” she joked (maybe). “No, but he does have a real name … Curtis … I don’t know, I should find out … Curtis Cent!” Handler said of the 35-year-old “Candy Shop” singer. She quickly added: “we’re just friends.” (Peace FM Online)
Now this was a rumor we really fell in love with. Think about it, who tells more jokes and has more fun with their careers than 50 Cent and Chelsea Handler? Whether they’re really getting down for real or for laughs, their “union” is still enough for us to wonder if Handler will end up with a “25 Cent” mini-me in the near future.
4. Kat Stacks & Soulja Boy Jr. On The Way: Baby By Me, Baby? (November 2)

Wow, can you imagine a Soulja Boy Jr., or saying “Hello, Kitty” to a baby Kat Stacks? If these Tweets from Kat Stacks were true, then it would support the idea that two Internet stars could manage to retard the human race.
5. Dr. Dre’s Detox Release Date…LOL (November 29)
Not that we believe him or anything, but Dr. Dre announced his long-awaited album Detox is set for a February 2011 release. But, he’s probably lying, and we don’t know why keep going back to him after he makes promises like this and just keeps us waiting. We should probably just go back home and live with our mother while we think things over and try to decide if he’s worth believing this time. Detox will feature guest appearances from Dre’s friends Eminem, the Game, La Roux, and Jay-Z along with Snoop Dogg and Akon, who appeared on the single “Kush”, which will receive an official release on Sunday when it becomes available for download.
