[Starting 5: With the annual NCAA March Madness tournament in full swing, SOHH asks your favorite hip-hop artists to name their rap-based starting five team line-ups. Today, DJ Khaled protege Ace Hood lets loose his Greats.]
Point Guard: Lil Wayne
Starting with the point guard, I would put Wayne there. I would say it’s the leadership and I feel like [there] was a time when Lil Wayne carried the whole Cash Money on his back. A majority of the reason they are where they are is because of the hard work he put in and really helping create situations for artists like Nicki Minaj and Drake.
Shooting Guard: Kanye West
The Kobe Bryant of the squad is Kanye West. Kanye is really like a never-miss type of player. He can hit it from anywhere. If you want to throw him on “this” record, he can do that. If you want to put him on something with Beyonce, he can do that too. If you want to put him on a record with Rick Ross, he can do that too. If you want to throw him on anything, he can do it too. You have to be able to hit it from everywhere.
Small Forward: Drake
Drake. I would say Drake is a guy who is very consistent. He’s one of those guys, if you need that hit, he’s going to come through and give it to you. You can rely on him. You can always count on him.
Power Forward: Rick Ross
I have to go with big homie Rick Ross right there. Big bro is going to give you that hardcore street music. He’s going to go hard in the paint. He can also make it sound so beautiful with the Maybach Music. He can also dunk it on you or fall back and take the shot.
Center: Jay-Z
For the center, I’m going with the homie Jay-Z. He’s colossal. He’s a businessman, a rapper, he’s just all of the above. If you want that heat, go check that boy. He’s got it in every format.
