Freeway Ricky publicly reached out first and showed an interest in hooking up with Shyne Po over the weekend.

“@OriginalShyne What’s up NEWPHEW? About to dm you my line hit me later!!,” Freeway tweeted December 16th. (Freeway Ricky Ross’ Twitter)

While brief with his words, Shyne acknowledged Freeway and extended an olive branch.

“@FreewayRicky absolutely Unc,” he tweeted back. (Shyne’s Twitter)

This comes days after deposition documents leaked online from Freeway Ricky Ross’ copyright infringement case with rap star Rick Ross over his hip-hop alias.

When questioned about how he decided to use “Rick Ross” as a professional name, the rapper unspooled a tale beginning when he was a football player at Miami Carol City Senior High School in the mid-1990s. Ross testified that he and his fellow offensive linemen called each other “Big East,” since they all wanted to attend the University of Miami, then a member of the Big East Conference. “That was my first nickname,” he said during the January 12 deposition. Ross then explained, “When I became All American, by the time I was in sophomore, I was the Big Boss. The Biggest Boss. That was a nickname.” When questioned about how he decided to use “Rick Ross” as a professional name, the rapper unspooled a tale beginning when he was a football player at Miami Carol City Senior High School in the mid-1990s. Last October, Shyne let loose on the rapper and one of his recent Jewish-themed mixtapes.

“Yo listen blood, [he’s] a straight cornball and I been saying that for a minute now. And one thing about Shyne Po, Shyne Po is consistent. I always speak my mind. I just find it curious that when Shyne Po do his Judaism thing and I’m on my Israelite thing, dudes was taking shots and poking fun at that and now, fat boy is coming out with Black Bar Mitzvah [mixtape],” Shyne said in an interview. “I have a lot of issues with him, but my most important issue is that to me, old boy is like Donnie Brasco. Dudes always say, he makes good music. It’s not about that. It’s about the integrity.” (Hot 97)
