After initial buzz developed over the possibility of a D-Block-meets-Wu-Tang album coming to fruition, The LOX's Sheek Louch tells fans the compilation project is still under construction.
While brief with his words, Sheek revealed the project already has eight songs completed.
“We was on tour, me and Ghostface, speaking of that, get ready for that Wu-Block album,” Sheek promised in an interview with hip-hop reporter Big Chewy. “Nah, it’s [a definite]. Wu-Block, Wu-Block. 100 percent. We like eight songs in right now as we speak.” (NE Video)
Last November, Jadakiss shared his reaction to Sheek’s Wu-Block notion.
“Yeah, yeah, I seen Sheek talking about that on Twitter. I haven’t seen him lately because he’s running around promoting his new album. But I’ll definitely be a part of that. Louch is my brother, Ghost[face Killah] is family, so it’s all love. All they have to do is tell me what time the session is gonna be and I’ll be there to make it happen.” (VIBE)
Originally aiming for a March 2011 release, Sheek recently explained how his association with fellow Def Jam labelmate Ghostface Killah developed into a collaborative project.
“Me and Ghost were just on tour together for about two months,” says Sheek. “So every night, we were writing and eventually the idea to do a project together came about organically. The plan is for me and Ghost to front it and to include certain cats from Wu-Tang and D-Block on some songs so that’s it’s a true Wu-Tang/D-Block album. I already told Raekwon, Styles P and Jadakiss that I’m going to need them on some joints. Cappadonna and Trife [Da God] are down. And we’re going to get some RZA tracks, too. It’s gonna be dope.” (VIBE)
Sheek alerted fans to the possibility of a joint album last November on Twitter.
“SHEEK/GHOST FACE. Presents WU/BLOCK the album comming TOP of the year…GET READY!!!,” Sheek tweeted November 19th. (Sheek Louch’s Twitter)
