Tennis superstar Serena Williams doubles as a fashion designer, spokeswoman, and part owner of the Miami Dolphins — but now TMZ has learned she’s adding RAPPER to her resumé. We’re told Serena hit the studio last week to lay down a few tracks … and is working with a record label owned by Minnesota Vikings star Bryant McKinnie. During the session, we’re told Serena did some work with renowned hip-hip producer DJ Clue … and she wasn’t half-bad. (TMZ)

Williams is widely known for her intimate relationship with Chicago rapper Common.

Looks like things are on again between Serena Williams and Common, who split up a few months ago after two years together. They were spotted leaving the Dolphins-Patriots game in Miami last night. And earlier in the day, they were seen having fun on the beach together. (USA Today)

She and Common reportedly broke up for a short period of time last year.

Serena Williams and rapper Common have had an off-and-on relationship for a couple of years. Despite Common saying he planned to get married back in May (though not specifically to Serena), the couple split later in the month. Serena explained that Common’s demanding schedule made it tough for him to maintain their relationship. Well, only a few months later it seems like the two could not live without one another. Outside of romance, Williams teamed up with rap star Ludacris for a music contest in 2009.

The nationwide songwriting competition invites independent musicians, songwriters, producers, rappers and singers to submit original music inspired by and about Serena Williams. Ms. Williams will select her personal favorite songs as Finalists, and the winner will be chosen by the online communities at WeMix.com and Ms. Williams redesigned and anticipated website serenawilliams.com. The musician with the winning song will be taken into the studio to professionally record what will become Serena’s official theme music. (PR Web)
