The basketball star-turned-rapper’s music video officially premiered online a few days ago.

Stephen Jackson is beginning to change the sentiment that all athletes make horrible rappers with his latest song called “Fall Out.” Project Spurs spotted this music video from their star player who also happens to be something of a gifted flow artist. The Hip-Hop hopeful continues to battle my initial thinking that NBA players make for horrible rappers. And I am right for the most part. Some take offense to the overuse of auto-tune in the song, as if that is something we are suddenly going to worry about in pop music. If Kanye West can make millions using it, I am not about to belittle Stephen Jackson for dousing his chorus in auto-tune. (Bleacher Report)

On the record, Jackson makes it known he has a knack for wealth and hitting Las Vegas.

“Whatcha boys know about paid vacations,” Jackson rap. “First class, about to take a trip to Vegas/D*mn near got me looking like the strip in Vegas/Pockets stacked up like chips in Vegas/M-G-M, I’ma money gettin’ monster/M-O-B, as if she’s looking for a sponsor…” (“Fall Out”)

The video comes shortly after Miami Heat’s Juwan Howard announced plans to drop a hip-hop compilation album.

A hip-hop album entitled “Full Court Press Vol. 1” will feature guys from the league, including Juwan Howard, Baron Davis, Trevor Ariza, Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer, Glen Davis, Shawn Marion, Josh Smith and more. In addition, the album is rumored to have artists like Rick Ross, Trina, Snoop Dogg, Birdman, The Game, T-Pain, Bun B, Twista and Soulja Boy on it, as well. (Complex)

Recently, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant hinted at dropping his own rap album in the future.

“I enjoy doing a lot of different things. I’m a basketball player. That’s what I do and what I love but that’s just not all who I am. I’m talented in a lot of different areas. Rapping is one of those things I just enjoy doing. I have fun doing. [Basketball player] Stephen Jackson is pretty good. He’s a nice rapper. It’s a privilege to be on a song with him. It’s not one of those songs where you’re just talking about how much money you got. It’s one of those inspirational kind of deals. … I think I’m going to do something. I have some resources and some nice people that’s going to help me out. I have a studio in my house already. Maybe I might put out a little something and have a little something.” (Washington Post)
