Slaughterhouse's Royce Da 5'9 has stepped up to speak out on fellow group member Joe Budden heating up the Internet last week after getting into a scuffle with "Love & Hip Hop" cast member Consequence.
Careful with his words, Royce admitted since he was not there he could not say whether or not the alleged attacks really occurred as reported by numerous media outlets.
“I don’t really, I mean, what is there to say,” Royce said in an interview when asked for his take on last week’s Budden and Consequence scuffle. “You know what I’m saying? I was out of town when it happened. I knew he was going to tape the finale show. I didn’t know drama was going to happen because it wasn’t planned. When I heard about what Consequence allegedly did, you know, I wasn’t there. The first thing I thought of was I probably would have looked at it differently had I been there. But since I wasn’t there, Joey’s a grown man. He can handle himself. He handled it how he wanted to handle it. And as far as I know, everything is alleged. I haven’t spoken [to him], he’s in London right now. I haven’t had a chance to speak to him about it. So I’m getting the information [like everyone else.] I did see the [fight] video. But I couldn’t tell what was going on. The only thing that was certain was somebody tried to hurt Consequence.” (Skee 24/7)
Last week, Cons came forward to give his take on what went down during the “Love & Hip Hop” reunion taping.
“It boils down to respect and lack thereof,” Cons explained in an interview. “I’m from Queens, New York and we only deal with the facts. So let’s deal with the facts. The number one thing is, I don’t run from nobody. Why would I smack somebody and then run, but stay there to get jumped? I never ran from nothing. Let’s keep that clear. That’s the part he came and told you Angie is that I hit him, Tahiry snuffed me, and then I ran. Nobody ran. I’m not gonna run from Tahiry. Unfortunately, when I smacked him, from what I was told by one of the stylists or production people, when I extended, it hit Tahiry. So she reacted and she hit me. And that’s a girl hitting me. And I like Tahiry. Shout out to Tahiry. It felt good.” (“The Angie Martinez Show”)
Earlier in the day, “Love & Hip Hop” cast member Tahiry provided some details on the initial attack.
“No, don’t believe the hype,” Tahiry said when asked if she and Budden are back together. “Don’t believe the hype. Like I said, you guys, don’t believe the hype but you guys should tune in Monday night at 8 on VH1. [Me and Joe blog rumors?] What else is new? Like I said, you can’t believe everything you read. [Him and Kaylin breaking up and us getting back together?] That’s something you should ask Joe about — me and Joey are not back together. I’m going to let you guys know that right now.” (“The Breakfast Club”)
Budden initially came clean on the entire attack moments after Cons assaulted him.
“We’re at the reunion, we’re filming, I’ve been doing this reunion all day long and we probably won’t be done until 10 o’clock,” Budden said in an interview. “They’re breaking right now, they’re getting the next group of audience members in there. I’m in a room with security standing all outside the door. It was a break and I grabbed Tahiry because me and her be fiending to go smoke a cigarette, so we’re headed out and someone just runs up behind me and hits me in the back of the head, with their hand. I turn around because I’m thinking this is a girl that did this upset about something I said during the filming and it’s him and he’s running away now. So now he’s real far away from me. Apparently he hit me in the back of the head while I was walking away, Tahiry snuffed him and then he ran off and then eight security guards came and grabbed me off. [laughs] A spectacle happened. [Injuries?] No, no, no, not at all. I don’t have anything. … I honestly thought this was a woman doing it.” (“The Angie Martinez Show”)
