Romeo’s smooch with Chelsie Hightower earned them their best score to date.

Chelsie Hightower has insisted that her kiss with Romeo during their performance on last night’s episode of Dancing with the Stars was unplanned. The pair received their highest scores to date after an emotional waltz to Celine Dion‘s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ as part of the show’s ‘Guilty Pleasures Night’, during which they shared a kiss on the lips. Following the kiss, both Romeo and Hightower gave their reactions.

“What I said tonight, basically, was, ‘If you want to [kiss me], go ahead,’ ” Hightower told PEOPLE after the show. “You can do it on the cheek, forehead or lips – but you don’t want to plan it too much.” The pair, who danced to “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic, said the kiss added to the drama and intensity of the moment. “I think it was emotional,” said Hightower. “I felt it.” “I was in character,” Romeo said. “I was feeling like Jack from Titanic.” (PEOPLE)

The current “Dancing With The Stars” season features a variety of celebrities including professional wrestler Chris Jericho and reality star Kendra Wilkinson.

The competition started with Kirstie Alley dancing the samba to Britney Spears‘ “…Baby One More Time”. She scored 26 out of 30. Chris Jericho followed next with his tango to “Don’t Stop Believing”. Chris scored 22. Lil’ Romeo went romantic, dancing the waltz to “Titanic” soundtrack “My Heart Will Go On”. Chelsea Kane (previously known as Chelsea Staub) danced the quickstep to “Walking on Sunshine”. After two weeks of bad-reviewed dances, Kendra Wilkinson did improve this week. Her samba to “Livin’ la Vida Loca” scored 25. Hines Ward showed up next with his Viennese waltz to “End of the Road”. He eventually scored 27. Ralph Macchio danced the paso doble to “Everybody Dance Now.” (Ace Showbiz)

In its sixth week, the show’s popularity has continued to grow.

Competing mostly against reruns, ABC scored a win among adults 18-49 (3.2 rating/8 share) and viewers (15.3 million) on Monday, according to fast nationals. Dancing with the Stars was easily the most-watched show of the night with 21.8 million viewers, but it also dominated across all demos, including a 9.8/22 in women 35-54 (two words: A mazing). The lead-in gave a nice boost to Better With You, which earned a 2.6/6, up 63% from last Wednesday’s 8:30 p.m. telecast. It averaged 11.6 million. (Entertainment Weekly)
