Atlanta producer Rocko recently updated fans on his status with jailed rapper Gucci Mane in light of recent Twitter remarks shot his way and promised things are not as they seem.
In Rocko’s perspective, Gucci has been experiencing some rough patches and not acting like his normal self as of late.
“I pulled up like a man, but at the end of the day, I realized that homey, he got some real stuff goin’ on with him because I was loyal to homey. I was all the solid with homey, so for that to happen, I know it was somethin’ else goin’ on. So I didn’t take it to heart like that,” Rocko told MTV News on Saturday when he stopped to talk with us on the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards carpet. “At first I did, but then I thought about it and I’m like, ‘Nah, that ain’t homey.'” (MTV)
Last week, Rocko revealed he saw first-hand Gucci’s condition after going out to meet him face-to-face following a series of controversial tweets.
“I mean, at the end of the day, man, pray for homie,” Rocko said in an interview. “I pulled up, you know what I mean? That’s what real men do. Real men address their issues head-first. Ain’t no situation where I’m going to rough the man because I’ve been here, I’m here to stay. Rocko is officially in this city. Rocko is the people’s champ — at the end of the day, it ain’t no persona for me. … That was my ace, you know what I mean? When all that took place, I was in awe. I’m like, ‘Whoa.’ So I’m like, ‘Nah, this ain’t my homie.’ So I pulled up, we had a conversation or whatever, but you know, homie’s going through some things. I just ask everybody to pray for homie. Hopefully he’ll be better – I ain’t gonna hold no grudge.” (Streetz 94.5)
In early September, Gucci directly went at Rocko, among other rap stars, on his Twitter page.
“Just seen. Rocko. Ge ask me. 1 question. All most was. With his maker. Who next. He cried like a hoe. N ran,” Gucci tweeted September 9.

The Atlanta hip-hop heavyweight recently hopped onto the social media outlet to openly apologize for his actions.
“Woke up the other day out this hospital bed & I’m so embarrassed & ashamed of my behavior that was brought to my attention. (Cont),” he tweeted September 22.
