After announcing a shocking break-up from Hollywood wife Paula Patton this week, R&B singer Robin Thicke has issued an open statement to his supporters.
Despite the family issue, Thicke’s Tuesday (February 25) statement promised he would return to touring this week.
“I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days. My fans mean everything to me. I’m looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington DC this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!,” a Thicke statement reads. (Robin Thicke)
According to reports, Thicke nixed a concert and flew out to Canada last Friday (February 21) to save his marriage.
Sources connected with the couple tell us … Paula Patton told Robin Friday she wanted to end the marriage. Robin then abruptly cancelled his show, saying he had throat problems. But the cancellation was solely so he could sit with his wife and try to change her mind. We’re told Paula — who is shooting a movie in Vancouver — and Robin had a long, face-to-face talk … both acknowledging they had not been getting along and frequently arguing. Our sources say in the end Robin realized Paula was determined to end the marriage and reluctantly agreed, but was very upset. We’re told she was also upset. The next day Robin cancelled his Orlando concert so he could be with their child. (TMZ)

Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are ending their longtime marriage. “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” the couple tell PEOPLE on Monday in an exclusive statement. The pair, who first met when Thicke was 14, have been married since 2005 and welcomed son Julian Fuego in April 2010. The singer, 36, long had been very expressive about his marriage to the actress, 38, saying last fall, “We’re pretty sure we’ve loved each other for a few lives.” (People)
