According to the singer, she would like her fifth solo project to feature more of an energetic pop sound.

“Rated R, I love the sound of it, in terms of the bass,” Rihanna explained in an interview. “I really like the bottom, the grime of it. But if I were to combine that with more energetic, up-tempo pop records, then I think that will be a happy marriage. And that’s where we’ll probably go next.” (MTV)

Her current project has already passed the gold status mark in albums sold.

Outside of music, the singer is reportedly putting together a new book.

Rihanna is writing a book – but it’s not the tell-all we’ve been waiting for. The songstress is teaming up with Simon Henwood, the creative director for her Rated R tour, to pen a photo-heavy tome due out on June 29. Additional reporting suggests a title has already been selected.

Rihanna “The Last Girl on Earth” written by Rihanna with contribution from Simon Henwood. With a format set to hardcover, the book is being categorized as “Music – Popular.” And if you’re wondering who Simon Henwood is, he is working on the campaign of Rihanna’s 4th album, Rated R.
