Details of how RiRi’s tweets led to the unfortunate predicament have surfaced online this week.

A few weeks ago Rihanna had tweeted about attending a lewd Thai show where a woman, “[Pulled] a live bird,2 turtles, razors, shoot darts and ping pong, all out of her pu$$y,” as she so eloquently states. According to The Associated Press, Rihanna’s series of tweets have now led to an arrest. The owner of the bar in Phuket, Thailand has been charged with obscenity and operating an entertainment venue without a permit. If convicted, he could face up to a month in prison and a fine of 60,000 baht, or $1,900. Had Rihanna never tweeted out her thoughts on the odd event, this business likely would have continued without the awareness from police. “Authorities found out about this bar the morning after Rihanna tweeted about it, but we were not able to catch them violating the law until Saturday night,” says Local district chief Weera Kerdsirimongkon. “We had been waiting for them and finally caught them red-handed.” This isn’t the first time Rihanna has inadvertantly put Thai citizens behind bars. A similar incident took place courtesy of Rihanna and her Twitter page a few weeks ago.

This isn’t the first arrest triggered by Rihanna’s postings on social media. A photo of her with a slow loris, a squirrel-like animal with big eyes, on Instagram led local police to arrest a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, who could face charges of possession of protected animals. The charge carries a penalty of up to four years in prison and a 40,000 baht ($1,300) fine. (Billboard)

Buzz behind some recent exotic mayhem RiRi sparked came to the surface around mid-September.

Pop star Rihanna spent a weekend at the beach in Thailand, leaving behind a trail of racy tweets and incriminating Instagram photographs that led police to arrest two people for allegedly peddling protected primates. On a break from her Diamonds World Tour, Rihanna stopped in Thailand to visit the island of Phuket, where she befriended some local wildlife. She posted a link on Twitter to an Instagram photo that showed her in sunglasses snuggling up to a furry primate called the slow loris, and tweeted Friday: “Look who was talkin dirty to me!” The slow loris, a squirrel-like animal with big eyes, is native to Southeast Asia and is listed as a protected species. The singer’s decision to post up specific pics resulted in arrests being made.

“Phuket authorities were alerted to the picture (of Rihanna), and last night police arrested the two individuals who brought out the loris as a photo opportunity for tourists,” a Phuket district chief, Weera Kerdsirimongkon, said by telephone Sunday. Police confiscated two lorises from the pair — a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy — who could face charges of possession of protected animals. The charge carries a penalty of up to four years in prison and a 40,000 baht ($1,300) fine. Weera said authorities have tried for years to crack down on the problem of vendors exploiting wildlife, particularly in popular tourist areas where people pay to pose for pictures with elephants, orangutans and other animals. “It’s like a cat-and-mouse game. But this time it’s bigger because a celebrity like Rihanna posted the picture, and there were more than 200,000 ‘likes’ from around the world,” he said. (The Big Story)
