Rihanna Set For Biggest Debut Ever, “Unapologetic” First-Week Projections Revealed

Grammy-winning singer Rihanna is looking to break unclaimed ground with her new Unapologetic solo album projected to dominate its competition atop the sales chart next week.

Based on one-day estimates, the R&B diva’s new LP could sell up to 260,000 copies in its opening week.

Look for Def Jam/IDJ chanteuse Rihanna’s Unapologetic to sell between 240-260k, her biggest debut ever, which is probably good enough to make her #1 next week. Atlantic’s Kid Rock takes advantage of his availability at iTunes for the first time with an estimate of 160-180k for his new, pro-Mitt Romney album, Rebel Soul. 19/Interscope American Idol winner Phillip Phillips‘ The World from the Side of the Moon will bow with between 140-160k. Atlantic/Rhino’s Led Zeppelin CD/DVD Celebration, recorded at their much-ballyhooed reunion show at London’s 02 Arena in 2007, should do in the 90-100k range. Geffen diva Keyshia Cole‘s Woman to Woman is on target for 75-85k, while 19/RCA Idol album Kelly Clarkson‘s greatest hits compilation looks good for 45-50k. The pop princess took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal the title, release date, and cover art, on which she strips down with nothing but black and white words scrawled across her naked body. Rihanna wrapped up her “777” mini-tour at New York City’s Webster Hall last night with an intimate performance where she thanked her fans for their support of her new album “Unapologetic “. The singer was apologizing however, for the disastrous and perhaps overly ambitious tour that took her along with over 150 fans and reporters to seven concert stops in seven countries in just seven days.
