Rihanna Lashes Out Over Banned ‘S&M’ Video, “They Watched ‘Umbrella’ [&] I Was Full Nude”

Grammy-winning singer Rihanna has lashed out over her new sultry “S&M” music video being given a parental advisory warning by YouTube and banned by select countries.

Writing on Twitter, RiRi pointed her fans to where they could view “S&M” without any conflicts.

“RT @loveririforever @rihanna no….. its tue boo :/ in ma country is blocked…. youtube says that only the ppl more than 18 can see it :/ … @loveririforever not true, they watched Umbrella…I was full nude…U can now view the S&M video on www.Rihannanow.com UNFLAGGED!!!,” she tweeted February 1st.

“@ciarastan4life WATCH S&M on RihannaNow.com NOW”

“#crackyowhip #RihannaNavy WE NEED S&M TO CRACK TOP 10 ON U.S. ITUNES NOW!!! BUY IT HERE!!! @Rihanna – S&M – itun.es/iFm7RB #iTunes-2″ (Rihanna’s Twitter)

The video has reportedly been banned in nearly a dozen countries.

The diva is back with her new single S&M – and the video is so steamy, it’s already been banned from 11 countries and counting. The vid features 22-year-old RiRi, writhing around in white latex (“with lube”, she says), sucking a banana (“I made ‘em give me a spit bucket in between takes”), wearing bondage gear and simulates sex with a lifesize doll. And the words to the song are just as dirty as the images. “Sex in the air, I don’t care, I love the smell of it,” she sings. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me.” Oo-er! Southern Asian countries immediately banned it. (Mirror)

Despite the rumors, MTV has no plans in re-editing the footage.

Rihanna has never shied away from being sexy in her videos, but it seems she’s gone too far for some with her colorful video and lyrics for “S&M.”Not only has the video been deemed “inappropriate for some users” by YouTube, where viewers must verify they are 18 or older before watching it, but a handful of radio stations are also reacting to the song’s racy lyrics. As for rumors that MTV was looking to re-edit the clip, reps for the network told MTV News that the Melina Matsoukas-directed video was approved as is. (MTV)

The song stems from Rihanna’s new Loud solo album which has remained on the sales chart since its late 2010 release.

Pop princess Rihanna’s Loud dropped one position to No. 13 with 25,600. After 11 weeks in stores, the video vixen’s new album rests at 865,100 sold records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
