Grammy-winning singer Rihanna has confirmed recent speculation suggesting she would be rekindling her past flame with Drake for an upcoming duet.
According to Rihanna, their record will be featured on her forthcoming Loud LP.
Just last month, Drake revealed that he and Rihanna had linked up for a song on her upcoming album Loud. Now the pop starlet is providing a few more details about the highly-anticipated collabo. “Drake is such a cool guy, man. He’s like one of my great friends,” RiRi told BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Max in a recent interview. “We actually just did a song together that’s gonna be on the album. The second single, we did a version with him, and who knows, we may shoot a video for it.” (Rap-Up)
Drake previously stirred speculation of their collaboration being in the works.
“I just did this great song with Rihanna so I hope we get to shoot a video for that too,” Drake revealed in a recent interview. “I’m really excited about that song…I don’t know if I’m supposed to talk about that actually.” (MTV)
In June, Drake explained referencing their past romantic relationship on his Thank Me Later debut.
And on “Fireworks” there’s a verse about Rihanna, who asked him last year to write a song for her new album; the two soon began seeing each other regularly, though they never publicly confirmed their brief relationship. “I was a pawn,” Drake said. The song he wrote for her never got released. “You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear,” he said. “I was like, wow, this feels terrible.” (New York Times)
According to reports, Rihanna’s new LP will come out this November.
Rihanna debuted “Only Girl (In the World),” the lead single from her new album, Loud, which is due out on November 16, via Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show. The song, which displays a Euro pop flair, marks a new sonic direction for Rihanna, whose icy vocal dominate the thumping beat. (Artist Direct)
