Houston rapper Riff Raff recently had a run-in with police and their handcuffs after North Carolina cops discovered drugs in his vehicle.
According to reports, the arrest went down Sunday (August 11) morning.
Riff Raff just learned Southern hospitality only goes so far … he was arrested early Sunday morning in North Carolina after cops found drugs in his car. The rapper was tooling around Greensboro at around 2:30 AM and bizarrely stopped in the middle of traffic to talk to a bunch of pedestrians … and if we know our Riff Raff, we’re guessing he was pimpin’ it. Along with drugs, cops reportedly came across unsealed alcohol.
Cops approached the vehicle and say they saw an open container of alcohol, which then triggered a full-blown search of the vehicle. That’s when police say they found weed and some sort of powerful narcotic, along with drug paraphernalia. The former MTV reality star (who may or may not have been the inspiration for James Franco’s character in “Spring Breakers”) was arrested along with his 2 passengers and taken to jail, where they were booked and released without bail. Cops say Riff turned on the Southern charm, because he was “not aggressive and polite.” (TMZ)
Coincidentally, Riff made a reference to North Carolina yesterday (August 12).
“i COULDA PLAYED FOR THE NORTH CAROLiNA TAR HEELS BUT THEY FOUND COCAiNE iN MY CARTWHEELS,” he tweeted August 12. (Riff Raff’s Twitter)
Outside of legal woes, Riff previously spoke on artists like Action Bronson and Kreayshawn making names for themselves.
“Action Bronson is a very talented indivisual. Not only can he rap, he has very good lyrical vocabulary and mindset and he’s a good person, too, we’re good friends, and he can also cook. … Kreayshawn? A lot of people, I think, ’cause she did that one song all the way last year, so I think a lot of people are thinking she’s a one-hit wonder or something like that. That’s not the case. I’ve heard a lot of new sh*t, her new music, and it’s excellent. I think when it drops, it’s going to sell more than anticipated. I think she’ll go platinum. … People are anticipating her album. When it comes out, I’m going to go buy it.” (FUSE TV)
