Rick Ross and his rap group Triple C's have announced a partnership with liquor-based company 1800 Tequila which will include their endorsements and a video shoot.
While details are scarce, 1800 Tequila rep Elwyn Gladstone confirmed the company’s venture with Ross.
“Rick Ross & Triple C’s were an obvious choice for us,” Gladstone, Head of Marketing for Proximo, said in a statement. “1800 Select Silver is a serious tequila for the serious tequila drinker. It’s making a huge splash in the tequila market right now, just as Rick Ross is shaking up the music industry.” (Statement)
Ross has also voiced his thoughts on the new deal.
“Of all the tequilas out there, the 100 proof 1800 Select Silver is the ‘big boss’ and the only tequila I would put the Rick Ross name behind,” said Ross. “1800 Tequila is a brand I’m really excited to grind and build with, and as I keep pumping out the hits, topping the charts, and discovering new talent like my crew Triple C’s, 1800 Tequila will be rising to the top with me.” (Statement)
The rapper recently discussed his desire to invest in a clothing line.
“I would just love to target a big and tall audience,” Ross said in an interview. “A lot of times, big dudes can’t walk in these stores and get these sizes of the fly sh*t. So I’d love to put something together just for the big guys. I’ve endorsed one or two fashion lines before for some little dudes in Miami, just showing them love. Luxury Tax, I actually gave [that] name to one of my homeboys from Haiti and helped him out with that. And another one called Foreign Lavish. You never know what the future holds.” (Rap-Up)
Looking outside of music, Ross also expressed his desire to work with the recently released ex-drug kingpin Freeway Ricky Ross.
“I mean most definitely,” Ross said in an interview last month regarding a possible business relationship. “You know I’m a business man so any business we could do, you know, it is most definitely something I look forward to doing. I mean a dude that just did a little time he could really reflect on different things, I don’t know what kinda business ventures he know but me, we in to films and different things like that. You’ll never know what a man is up to. Of course not , [I haven’t met him.] But you know I been in the game a few years, shout-out to him, he’s doing his thing. Do we have any business together? No we don’t, but you know, we both hustlers. So I wish him the best, so you know, that’s what I say on that.” (Jenny Boom Boom)
