Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross has killed speculation and reports which suggest he nixed the rest of a headlining tour last week due to a series of death threats he received.

According to Ricky Rozay, problems with his concert promoter, not a rival gang, forced him to pull the trigger.

“I canceled the rest of the tour [because] the promoter wasn’t really handling his business. He canceled a date of mine. I was going to Tuscon, Arizona and I was really a few hours outside of the market when I heard. I believe it was Tuscon, this was a week and a half ago. I just made a call to the dude Shawn Gee and just let him know that ain’t how we move and just communicate a little better. So the other day I woke up and realized two more dates had been canceled. So I felt like that was some power I needed to take away from homie, so I canceled the rest of the dates that I had arranged with him but originally, the tour was from November 2nd to December 5th. That’s why we ended it in Miami.” (99 Jamz)

He also directly addressed the chatter about death threats making him fall back.

“It never was due to any threats. Not to cut you off but let me explain something to you, I’m a certified man, I am a real boss and this is something that everybody needs to understand. Gangsters move in silence. Gangsters move in silence. And in situations like that, I just remember something an old-school Dade County gangster told me a long time ago that any dude can stand in the crowd with 30, 40 dudes and everybody real, everybody trill, everybody about that life, everybody gangster, you understand? But when those choppers come out, everybody fold.” (99 Jamz)

Reports of his entire tour cancellation emerged online late last week.

Now, it looks like the threats may not have played a part, after all: Ross has canceled the remainder of his MMG tour, with his reps citing “apparent lack of organization and communication on the part of the tour promoter. I want to apologize to all of my fans who I missed performing for due to the cancellations and want to let them know that I will get back to their cities. I enjoyed my experience with my little bros Wale and Meek Mill and I’m ready to get back in the studio to make good music. The tour was scheduled to go through December 16. (Idolator)

Initial reports claimed threats to his life forced Ross to pull out of a few North Carolina appearances.

A Maybach Music Group concert tour headlining Rick Ross was scheduled to appear Friday in Greensboro and Saturday at the Bojangles Coliseum. Rappers Wale and Meek Mill were scheduled to appear as well. The theats stem from the Gangster Disciples, who have a beef with Ross. The North Carolina Chapter recently put out a YouTube video warning him to stay out of Charlotte. (Charlotte Observer)
