Despite the snub, Ross has taken the high road and congratulated the artists who did receive nods.

“Everybody that was nominated this year for the Grammys, I congratulate them, and I feel like everyone deserve it,” Ross said in an interview. “As far as me, I feel like it’s just something else for me to work towards, you know, if that’s something that I’m really, really trying to achieve — Other than that, I had a wonderful year and I really couldn’t ask for no more.” (MTV)

Last year, rapper Killer Mike slammed the Grammy Awards for not acknowledging Ross’ Deeper Than Rap album with a nomination.

“If [Ross’] album doesn’t get nominated for rap album of the year or album of the year, all this sh*t is rigged up,” he said. “Rick Ross should be heralded this year for the quality of music he’s put out, no lie. I think Jeezy deserves a Grammy, but he’s never received it…I’ll watch the Grammy’s when Jeezy gets his…He never got nominated.” (XXL Mag)

A few days ago, Drake shared his reaction to being nominated in multiple categories including “Best Rap Album” and “Best New Artist.”

“To get any type of Grammy accolade or anything, it’s cliche but it’s a dream come true in the literal sense, that thing you have between sleeping and waking up. That time spent I used to think about being on the stage and being able to thank the people that have done so much for me in my life. And I remember the first time I went to the Grammy Awards and I looked at the set up of it at The Kodak Theater and it was like man, this is very similar to the dream I’ve been having since the ‘Degrassi’ days. I’ve been having this dream, I never knew where it was and it never really specified what the award was, but I knew it was a night I could let the people know–the people in my life know–how much they have done with me. To have four opportunities to have that chance is incredible.” (Global Grind)

Rapper Eminem leads this year’s 53rd Annual awards ceremony.

The rapper also known as Marshall Mathers received 10 total nominations including categories like Album of the Year for his CD Recovery, and Record and Song of the Year for “Love the Way You Lie,” his number one hit with Rihanna. Eminem was also well-represented in the rap categories, receiving additional nominations for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and more. (WTMA News)

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 and will broadcast live on CBS at 8PM ET/PT.
