Ross also named the late Notorious B.I.G. and former Def Jam labelmate Jay-Z in his top five list.

“Over the history of time, I have a lot of different rappers for different reasons,” Ross said in an interview. “But I would say, in no particular order, Ice Cube, Big Daddy Kane, The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, either [Lil Wayne] or Birdman could possibly make that list. There’s so many more people I love, back in the day, my love for A Tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip, JT Money, Trick Daddy as well is one of the early ones that inspired me. I draw inspiration from a lot of different artists, regardless of where you’re from.” (Real Talk NY)

Last November, Ross said a Baby collaboration album called The H was due out in 2010.

“We gonna let that [album] go next year,” Ross promised in an interview. “The whole concept behind it was we wanted to do something different and do a movie. Taking the movie process is a whole lot longer than the music, so we’ve just been leaking records here now just to let ’em know it’s coming. But we actually start filming at the very end of this year.” (Hip Hop Official)

Baby previously claimed the project was complete and scheduled for a summer 2010 release.

Plans are still on the table for a Birdman and Rick Ross album. The rappers’ collaborative effort is in the bag and just waiting a release date. “Ross and I finished the album already. It’s called The H,” Birdman revealed to Rap-Up.com. “We’ll probably put it out in the summer.” The Cash Money Records CEO has a lot of admiration for his fellow paper chaser, who’s currently promoting his group Triple C’s debut Custom Cars & Cycles. “I respect Ross. He gets money and his music is hot.” (Rap-Up)

In 2009, Ross talked with SOHH about his favorite albums over the past two decades.

“Other than my projects that we released, in the last ten years, it would be hard for me to answer,” Ross told SOHH. “But most definitely, a little longer than that, I think those were the last albums that really influenced me and just leaked into my soul. The Life After Death’s, the All Eyez On Me, the UGK Riding Dirty, I could even go further to Amerikkka’s Most Wanted. Don’t get it wrong, I listen to the music these days, but I won’t necessarily ride to it.” (SOHH)
