During a private listening session, Ricky Rozay unveiled a track he likened to the memory of late musician Biggie Smalls.

Ross said that he feels Biggie could relate to this record, before the 911 call audio reporting the shooting at his Rolls Royce in January begins to play. Big was infamously gunned down in Los Angeles in 1997 while seated in the passenger side of a GMC Suburban SUV. Next, the instrumental from The Notorious B.I.G.’s “You’re Nobody (Until Somebody Kills You)” drops and Ross began to address the attempt on his own life, his vocals eerily sounding a bit like Christopher Wallace’s. French Montana does his best impression of Future Vandross as he sings on the chorus on the song, of which Rozay didn’t reveal the name. Ross, sporting a black Diamond Supply Co. sweatsuit, Philadelphia Flyers cap and gold Jesus piece, skimmed through about six songs that mildly varied in content. (VIBE)

Back in February, Ross finally broke his silence on the near-death experience.

“Not at all, not at all,” Ross said when asked if there were any new developments since last month’s shooting. “No suspects and we’re not here to speculate on any suspects. I’m just staying positive, I’m moving forward and I’m just staying on top of my game. MMG. We got the biggest releases of the year, this year, coming. That’s my focus and I’m here — you most definitely got to make some adjustments [to your security] but at the same time, I’m gonna live my life and do what I love to do and that’s make music.” (MTV)

Maybach Music Group’s Wale previously spoke on the seriousness of what went down.

“I think the whole thing’s been blown up,” Wale said about Ross’ shooting. “I think the media, you know, is perpetuating a lot of things, God forbid something happen to anybody then they’re going to be playing people’s records all day and acting like [they cared]. … It’s a joke to y’all because you see somebody on TV everyday but what if that’s your friend, ’cause that’s my friend. I was talking to him last night about the football game so what y’all think is a joke, that’s somebody’s health. I know his children. You know what I’m saying? God forbid something happens — and I just lost one of my brothers so I don’t even play around with that stuff.” (“Streez Morning Grind”)

While he awaits the December 17 album release, Ricky Rozay is packing his bags and setting off on a “Mastermind” tour in November.

The 8-city “Mastermind” tour kicks off on Nov. 12 in Detroit and hits cities including Boston, New York, and Atlanta, wrapping on Nov. 23 in his hometown of Miami. The 37-year-old rapper will perform with the 1500 or Nothin’ Band aka “The Fifteen Hundreds.” He debuted the new stage show at a concert at Club Nokia in Los Angeles last month. “It’s never been done like this,” said Ross. “We’ll be performing everything from ‘Tears of Joy’ to ‘Aston Martin Music,’ all with a live band. It’s time to remind everyone what Maybach Music is all about.” (Rap-Up)
