Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross has earned the title of “Bawse of the Year” for 2012 by GQ Magazine and offered up a few tips fans should consider as the calendar turns to 2013.
Honored by GQ’s title, Ricky Rozay revealed his aim to stop smoking blunts and encouraged fans to consider switching over to papers.
Hey, Rick Ross, your album God Forgives, I Don’t was massive; your label, Maybach Music Group, blew up–was 2012 a huge year for you? “It’s been a power-player year.” And how about being named the tenth-most-powerful man in hip-hop by The Source? “I’m the typa dude who feels like he could take number two next year.” But why not number one this year? “The moves I make, I ain’t never in no rush.” Any advice for readers? “One, for Christmas go get yourself an MMG tattoo. Two, let’s all stop smoking blunts; let’s smoke out of papers.” Anything else? “Ladies, you all should just love me. Let’s all have a beautiful year, let’s get this money.” Okay, sounds good! (GQ)
The accolade may come as a surprise to rap veteran Master P who recently crowned himself the boss of all bosses.
“What’s up y’all, it’s the boss of all bosses, on a private plane right now,” Master P said in a video. “No Limit film, coming from the projects to be able to do what we do, it’s definitely a blessing. I thank the man up above. It’s my life, it’s a nice life, it’s a beautiful life. … I know a lot of y’all thought it was over for me. I just had to dig up the little money I had, take over this sh*t again. Never count me out. I am the best hustler in the game and I am the boss of all bosses.” (No Limit)

Recently, R&B singer Avery Storm spoke to SOHH and gave his thoughts on frequent collaborator Rick Ross’ growth as a boss.
“First and foremost, working with Rick Ross, Ross is one of those real cats,” Avery told SOHH. “I say that in the sense that he’s one of those dudes that if he says he wants to work with you or he wants to link, he’s really going to do that. We made history togheter. We made magical records and just that in itself is a blessing and to see Ross grow the way he has, you saw the storm coming. He’s a businessnman first and foremost and he knows what he’s doing. When you’re confident in what it is that you’re doing, there’s nothing stopping you but yourself. You know for d*mn sure that he’s not going to get in his own way. So I’ve got a lot of respect for Ross for his talent and as a man.” (SOHH)
