Miami rapper Rick Ross has revealed his strategy behind his “beef” with 50 Cent saying his diss records have given him a opportunity to “show people how talented I am.”
After weeks of response records aimed at Fif, and Ross is releasing additional music to lure in new fans.
“My freestyles as you could hear them, ‘Kiss My Pinky Ring,’ I do them in 20 minutes and put them out there,” he said in an interview. “Those crumble empires. People listening to how potent the music is. That’s all this really is for me. I’m not really excited yet. All this is a platform for me to show people how talented I am. How much better of a lyricist I am. So if sold 10 [million], my next album should sell 12.” (MTV News)
Along with non-stop interviews, Ross has also been recording videos for his forthcoming album Deeper Than Rap including his hit single “Magnificent.”
“It’s your boy DJ Freddy Fred,” a Ross associate said outside the video shoot. “We’re about to go at this Rick Ross video shoot featuring John Legend with a couple of my boys, Triple C‘s… f*cking with E-Class, f*cking with Ross. [DJ] Khaled. That’s how Miami do. We’re rockin’ with Ross.” (Nah Right)
An unconfirmed track listing of songs has reportedly leaked online.
“Songs from Deeper Than Rap will include ‘Magnificent’, ‘Mafia Music’, ‘On Top of the World’, ‘Cigar Music’, ‘Usual Suspects’, ‘Maybach Music, Pt. 2′ and more.” (Deeper Than Rap)
Ross’ third Def Jam solo release is set to feature a variety of guest appearances.
Deeper Than Rap will reportedly feature Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Nas, Lil’ Wayne, Kanye West along with production from DJ Khaled, Bink and more.
