According to reports, Ross’ now-memorable outfit sparked massive social media chatter late Tuesday (October 15) night.

Rapper Rick Ross got Twitter abuzz on Tuesday night when the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards aired. People couldn’t seem to stop talking about what he wore, or better yet, what he didn’t wear. The show was held on Sept. 28 at the Civic Center in Atlanta, but it didn’t air until Tuesday. The 37-year-old rapper, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, donned a blue velor ensemble without a shirt underneath and numerous gold chains that hung around his neck. Some users made fun of the rapper for being out of shape. Others couldn’t get passed why he would dress like a blue teddy bear, while many said they were just plain tired of seeing him shirtless. There were a few Twitter users who came to his defense, but most were bashing the star. (International Business Times)

Notable side-by-side comparisons of Ross and “Sesame Street” character Cookie Monster scattered across platforms like Twitter and Instagram.

The track “Bugatti,” Ross’ hit with Ace Hood and Future was up for several awards on Tuesday night. But when it came to Ross, people were less concerned about the music he made and the awards he could possibly win once he stepped onto the stage to perform. Though arguably the most talked about person of the night, Ross wasn’t the only performer. Future, Uncle Snoop, Rocko, Diddy, , Bones Thugs-N-Harmony, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar, Yo Gotti, DJ Khaled, French Montana, 2 Chainz, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Rich Homie Quan and Juvenile entertained. Kendrick Lamar, Slaughterhouse and Lil Kim cyphered on the show. (International Business Times)

Coincidentally, Ricky Rozay did not don the same outfit during the red carpet pre-show.

While celebrated, Ross was outshined by West Coast rap star Kendrick Lamar who walked away with five wins.

The full winner list of 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards has been revealed. Kendrick Lamar, who competed in 14 categories, was the biggest winner with five awards that include Album of the Year for his newest album “good kid, m.A.A.d city”. The Compton rapper then took home Sweet 16 and Best Collabo awards for “F**kin’ Problems”, his collaboration with A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz and Drake. At the annual event, Lamar was also named Lyricist of the Year and MVP of the Year. (Ace Showbiz)
