Miami rapper Rick Ross‘ Wingstop restaurant is finally open for business in Memphis, Tennesse this week after announcing his latest business venture over the summer.
According to reports, the rapper’s Memphis spot is now taking orders.
Although Rick Ross’ Hickory Hill Wingstop restaurant won’t celebrate its grand opening until October 15, it’s officially open for business today. “It’s time for us to make it happen in Memphis,” he said in a written statement. “With Wingstop we are bringing in the food I like and adding jobs to the community. It’s a double win.” Ross first teamed up with Wingstop when he rapped about their wings on his song “MC Hammer.” (Hickory Hill)
The “Boss” is also planning to stop by during its official grand opening next week.
Ross, who is currently preparing for the release of his fifth studio album, will work with an operating partner to run the restaurant. His first appearance at Wingstop Memphis will be in conjunction with a grand opening event Oct. 15 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. that will include a meet and greet session and a radio remote with WHRK-FM K97. In early August, Ross announced plans to venture into the chicken wing industry.
Rick Ross will open the first of several Wingstop restaurants in Memphis, this Fall. Ross, who name checked Wingstop brand on the song “MC Hammer” from his album Teflon Don, felt an affinity with the brand, which made it easier to make the decision to invest. “After tasting Wingstop’s signature lemon pepper-flavored wings in Miami, I knew this was a franchise I wanted to add to my investments,” Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com in a statement today (August 4th). The restaurant is known for wiping its competition at chicken festivals.
It’s no wonder we have sold so many wings after wins at the Buffalo Wing Festival 3 years in a row. Wingstop has taken chicken wings to a whole new level by saucing and tossing them in a choice of 9 flavors. Wingstop is not fast food; our wings are made with care and served up piping hot. Every order is made fresh when you order it; nothing sits under a heat lamp. In addition to hot fresh wings our sides are homemade. Fresh Cut Seasoned Fries are cut daily in every restaurant from Idaho Potatoes. If you haven’t tried any of our sides you are missing out! (Wingstop)
