Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross and Cash Money Records head Birdman have finally penciled in a release date for their long-awaited The H collaborative project.
According to the rap stars, fans can expect it to drop within the next seven days.
Ever wonder what happened to Birdman and Rick Ross’ collaborative album they recorded back in 2008? Fans will finally hear it soon. On set of DJ Khaled‘s “No New Friends” video shoot in Miami, the two southern titans announce their project arrives on Thursday, May 23. Hosted by DJ Khaled, expect plenty of boss talk from MMG and YMCMB’s head honchos. Regular collaborators, you can catch both on Future’s “Karate Chop” and Young Scooter‘s “Colombia” remixes. Back in early 2010, Birdman promised the project would eventually come out.
“We are still making it happen,” the Cash Money mogul said of the impending release with the self-proclaimed Boss tentatively entitled The H–which is due out early this year. “Ross is my partner. He’s already great to me. He’s got the mind and the talent to do what he wants as far as rap goes. He can rap his ass off. He’s going to constantly make hits. The town has bust open. I’ve learned a lot being in Miami. It’s different from where we come from. I felt like we had to leave New Orleans in order to grow. My city is small; the state of Louisiana is small. I’m from there and I love it. I’m 504 ’til I go. I still have a house there and I still go there. But at some point you have to grow.” (VIBE)
Around November 2009, Ricky Rozay said it would also be accompanied by a movie.
“We gonna let that [album] go next year,” Ross promised in an interview. “The whole concept behind it was we wanted to do something different and do a movie. Taking the movie process is a whole lot longer than the music, so we’ve just been leaking records here now just to let ‘em know it’s coming. But we actually start filming at the very end of this year.” (Hip Hop Official)
Baby previously announced the album’s completion months prior.
Plans are still on the table for a Birdman and Rick Ross album. The rappers’ collaborative effort is in the bag and just waiting a release date. “Ross and I finished the album already. It’s called The H,” Birdman revealed to Rap-Up.com. “We’ll probably put it out in the summer.” The Cash Money Records CEO has a lot of admiration for his fellow paper chaser, who’s currently promoting his group Triple C’s debut Custom Cars & Cycles. “I respect Ross. He gets money and his music is hot.” (Rap-Up)
