Remy Ma has been locked up for six years. In about 50 days, the New York native will be released after she fell victim to an assault charge back in 2008. Papoose has confirmed the actual date of July 30 of when she gets out. Until then, check out her promotional flyer above with the caption: “The Ruler’s Back.” Are you ready? (XXL Mag)
Back in March, her husband/rapper Papoose revealed he had plans to take Remy out for a meal once she is released.
Papoose is awaiting the July 31 release of Ma, who is serving time at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women for the shooting of Makeda Barnes-Joseph, who was accused of stealing $3,000 from the musician. “That’s going to be a very special day for me,” said the rapper of his wife’s release. “They say I never smile, but they going to see me with a Kool Aid smile that day.” As for his plans with her when she is released: “I want to take her out to eat,” he said, sharing plans to take her to Tao. “We going to go over there and have a good meal.” (NY Daily News)
Earlier the same week, Ma joked about what plans were on deck.
“I’m going to get my hair done. I’m going to get my nails done. [Laughs] People see me as this rough tomboy. I’m a girly girl. And I’m married! I’m over here married, without my nails done. I’m going to get dolled up. I’ll then knock out a few things [and] lay down some melodies. I’ve written a lot down but I haven’t been producing so I just write and listen to the radio.” (Billboard)
Last fall, Papoose hinted at Remy possibly being a free woman by the summer.
