New Jersey rapper Redman has revealed that his ties to Wu-Tang Clan are deeper than collaborations and that he is, indeed, a member of the infamous hip-hop group.

Falling in line right after Cappadonna, Red claims he is the official 11th Wu member.

“I am a Wu-Tang member and Method Man, he been a Def Squad member way before I was a Wu member,” Redman said. “I was like a Wu member but I wasn’t official. But [Erick] Sermon made Meth a Def Squad member back in the day. I became a Wu member about 5 years ago. I am the 11th member of Wu.” (All Hip Hop)

Aside from the Wu, Red is working on multiple solo and collaborative projects heading into 2011.

The Black Out 3 is coming, Muddy Waters Part 2 is coming and How High Part 2 is coming. But remember, Universal owns the motherf**king rights to How High. They own the names, they own the characters, they own the whole f**king s**t. If Red and Meth do a movie, we might can’t call it How High. Only person that can get us out of that is Keenan Ivory Wayans.” (All Hip Hop)

In a recent interview, Red talked about the insignificance of record sales.

“You gotta understand, we’re doing a movement,” Red said in an interview. “It’s not just about record sales. F*ck how many motherf*ckers got the biggest sales and all that. That don’t mean sh*t. Motherf*ckers be having high a** sales but not respected in the street, not respected for the culture. It’s not about sales no more, it’s about a movement. Who’s gonna follow that movement? Red and Meth are the smoking movement. Any time we drop an album, y’all should be at the f*cking store, whether you like it or not and buy the f*cking album. December 7th, Reggie.” (Best of Both Offices)

As a veteran of hip-hop, Red recently shared his opinion of rap’s new stars like Nicki Minaj and Drake.

“I like Nicki Minaj, I love the whole Young Money camp and what they’re doing,” Red said in an interview. “Because hey, they’re keeping the sh*t going, you can’t know them. And I look at it as anyone that don’t like what they’re doing, step the f*ck up and change it then and make a change. You can’t sit back complaining on the sideline, you gotta be in the game…They’re original, even though Nicki Minaj has her wild style to her or whatever but she’s keeping them talking. And that’s what you want to do. She’s making an impact, I even said her name on one of my new records…They’re either gonna love you or hate you but they gotta respect you and I think that’s what Drake’s going after, that’s what Nicki Minaj is going after…” (Vlad TV)
