Details on his arrest hit the Internet Thursday (October 14) afternoon.

Bryan Leach, 41, was pulled over while driving erratically on the upper West Side at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to a complaint unsealed in Manhattan Criminal Court. Leach stopped at the corner of W. 72nd St. and Riverside Dr. and police approached, spotting a .380 Kel-Tec handgun on the front seat, prosecutors charged. The gun was loaded with six hollow-point bullets, prosecutors said.Leach was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless driving, officials said. (New York Daily News)

It is not yet known if Leach has a permit to travel with a gun.

A court complaint says the weapon with the hollow-point ammo was found in a center console. Hollow-point bullets are legal in New York. They are known to expand on impact — which can cause additional damage to their human targets. It’s unclear at this point whether Leach has a permit to carry the weapon. The charges he faces deal with having a loaded gun outside one’s home or business, among other things. (ABC News)

He was reportedly released on bail shortly following his arrest.

“He’s financially responsible for all of her treatments,” his attorney James McMillan told a court. A judge set bail at $50,000. McMillan said he expected Leach would post it. Leach has a prior criminal record, including a 1994 gun-possession conviction, prosecutors said. RCA Music had no immediate comment on his arrest. (Associated Press)

Leach is known for signing a variety of big Southern rap stars.

In addition to founding the J Records-distributed record label, Polo Grounds Music — home of artists like Pitbull, Yo Gotti, Hurricane Chris, Diamond and many more — the 41-year-old Leach is also known for signing acts like Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twinsto now-defunct label TVT records.
