Having recorded the track at New York’s Electric Lady Studios, Rae also said he made sure to keep his rhymes PG-based for the 16 year-old Bieber.

“Kanye was just being Kanye,” Rae told MTV News about the session. “He was definitely excited. The energy in the room was already speaking for itself. It was time to get up and have fun on the track together. We was drinking, laughing, being normal cats. At the same time, we had a houseful of celebrities in the house as well. [Kanye] was moving through the facility checking out the studios he had. He had three studios in there…All I did was ride the beat and listen to what he was singing to…I can go basic when I want to. I can go rated R, I can go rated PG. I definitely didn’t give him anything that I thought was too hot to be spoken on by a 16 year-old. I know how to read beats, and listening to the record, I just complemented. At the end of my 16 [bars], when you do hear Justin coming, it fits and it’s a great sound. I didn’t go crazy. One thing people gotta recognize about me, I’m the Chef. I know how to make spicy food, I know how to make food that ain’t spicy. I made something that fit the criteria.” (MTV)

Yesterday, Ye said the collaboration was a done deal.

“Finishing @JustinBieber Runaway Love remix too… don’t know when they gonna drop it but Raekwon’s verse is crazy!!!,” Ye tweeted.

“I gotta testify… God has worked his magic 10 fold in my life since I dropped the ego and opened my heart.” (Kanye West’s Twitter)

After Ye presented the idea of doing a remix with Rae, Bieber called the possible collaboration “epic.”

“@kanyewest me, u, and the chef 2gether on a song = EPIC. haha. might sound crazy 2 u but even having this convo is living the dream. thanks.” (Justin Bieber’s Twitter)

Earlier this week, the “Chef” broke the news of their remix being in the works.

“It’s definitely gonna happen,” Rae said in an interview. “When you got these kinda talents merging together to do something exciting, I think it’s something that’s gonna make the fans check it out. I’m big fans of both of these guys. I think, at the end of the day, shorty is a sensation. And [for him] to acknowledge me it makes me feel good that the young generation is checkin’ me out like that. And at the same time it gives me a position to play a bigbrother in the game. He wants my assistance or whatever he can get it. I respect him, I like his style…Yeezy called me and we gon’ make it pop. At the end of the day we’re all doing our thing in the game and for them to even just have a conversation and just put my name in it it feels good. It feels good to respect what I do and I respect what they do. And we gon’ make a hit. Justin got his own fan base and me and Yeezy got our own fan base and we gon’ make it happen. We gon’ make a good record.” (XXL Mag)
