The “Chef” released his new Doe B and Tip-assisted “I Wanna Know” anthem this week.

Raekwon honors Doe B, who was shot and killed over the weekend while performing in his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama, by releasing the song “I Wanna Know” which features the fallen rapper and T.I. It’s a straight-no-chaser type of record that lives and breathes for the streets with a raw melody and pulsing drums. “I Wanna Know” displays how Doe B was a promising act on the Grand Hustle roster. His presence will be missed in and outside of the booth. (Complex)

Dipset’s Jim Jones remembered Doe’s life with a tribute-based Instagram post over the weekend.

“Rip to a good n*gga it was my pleasure to have th pleasure n honor of working wit u in my stu @deepitboss u a good n*gga God Bless u n my condolences go to his family,” Jim posted December 28. (Jim Jones’ Instagram)

This week, a 25-year-old suspect received multiple charges after turning himself over to authorites on Sunday (December 29) in connection to the shooting.

Montgomery police charged Jason McWilliams, 25, with two counts of capital murder in connection with the slayings of Glenn Thomas, 22, and Kimberle Johnson, 21, at Centennial Hill Bar and Grill. McWilliams turned himself in late Sunday night, police said. Thomas was a rapper known as Doe B while Johnson was a student studying social work at Troy University, about 50 miles south of here. Over the weekend, manager DJ Frank White said he believed Doe B was likely targeted in the fatal attack.

White is a local radio personality at 97.9 JAMZ and Thomas’ manager. “He was a great guy, a fun guy and a very humble person,” White said. White believes Kimberle Johnson was an innocent bystander who had no connection to Thomas. He said he does feel Thomas, who was at the bar and grill as a patron and not a performer, was targeted in the shooting. “I don’t believe this was random,” White said. “A lot of people don’t want to see others succeed.” (Montgomery Advertiser)
