Despite being a hip-hop veteran, the “Chef” feels he can dominate any genre of music.

“Let’s be straight up. Number one, you know I love all kinds of music,” Rae said in an interview. “When you think of the Chef, you think of somebody that knows how to cook and cook various dishes, so I couldn’t really sit here and say that I wouldn’t be up to do anything because I know at the end of the day it’s gonna be hot. Anything I touch is gonna be hot. I don’t care if I go through a record with a Mexican man from wherever, you know what I mean? When you look at the Chef, you can put me in any sauce and I have my ingredients and it’s gonna taste like what it’s supposed to taste like.” (XXL Mag)

Earlier this week, Rae talked about his studio session with Kanye West, who will also appear on Bieber’s “Runaway Love” remix.

“Kanye was just being Kanye,” Rae told MTV News about the session. “He was definitely excited. The energy in the room was already speaking for itself. It was time to get up and have fun on the track together. We was drinking, laughing, being normal cats. At the same time, we had a houseful of celebrities in the house as well. [Kanye] was moving through the facility checking out the studios he had. He had three studios in there…All I did was ride the beat and listen to what he was singing to…I can go basic when I want to. I can go rated R, I can go rated PG. I definitely didn’t give him anything that I thought was too hot to be spoken on by a 16 year-old. I know how to read beats, and listening to the record, I just complemented. At the end of my 16 [bars], when you do hear Justin coming, it fits and it’s a great sound. I didn’t go crazy. One thing people gotta recognize about me, I’m the Chef. I know how to make spicy food, I know how to make food that ain’t spicy. I made something that fit the criteria.” (MTV)

On Thursday, Ye said the collaboration was a done deal.

“Finishing @JustinBieber Runaway Love remix too… don’t know when they gonna drop it but Raekwon’s verse is crazy!!!,” Ye tweeted.

“I gotta testify… God has worked his magic 10 fold in my life since I dropped the ego and opened my heart.” (Kanye West’s Twitter)

After Ye presented the idea of doing a remix with Rae, Bieber called the possible collaboration “epic.”

“@kanyewest me, u, and the chef 2gether on a song = EPIC. haha. might sound crazy 2 u but even having this convo is living the dream. thanks.” (Justin Bieber’s Twitter)
