Pusha revealed how much time and dedication Kanye puts into the music-making process.

“He makes a whole new song with your vocals after you are done. After you are married to it and love it, he takes your song and does a whole 360 with the beat then gives it back to you and tells you that’s your record, bud. That’s the process,” explains Pusha. “We’ll go in the studio together and he asks me what part of the beat that I like, and then he’ll loop that part of the beat and I’ll go right to that and I’ll record to that and give that back to him. Bye bye song, bye bye what I fell in love with-” Pusha cups his hand to wave goodbye to the audio file- “Because it ain’t coming back the same.” (Forbes)

Pusha also assured fans he is still hard at work on his next solo album.

Pusha T is now hard at work on his sophomore album, King Push. He says listeners can expect “more unorthodox hiphop” from the record. “[There is] aggressive angst, organized chaos, thought-provoking raps; it gets a little conscious at times, rebelliously conscious.” By way of explanation, Pusha T shrugged: “That’s where life is putting me right now.” (Forbes)

Instead of sugarcoating the song’s meaning, Pusha embraced its competitive undertones.

“It was a concept Kanye West had. He knows when he does these unorthodox tracks, I’m probably going to be the first one up to bat when it comes to tackling it,” Pusha said in an interview. “I’m here to take everybody’s lunch money. I really am. That’s what I feel like I’m doing — it’s the spirit of competition, I put out a record like this to make a statement. It’s a competitive sport.” (MTV)

Earlier this year, the G.O.O.D. Music star talked about his upcoming King Push solo album.

“It’s in the beginning stages. I’ve been in with Pharrell and Chad and I was in Miami for a little while, so any producer that was down there I would try to link up with in between time with The Neptunes, just to see what everybody got. But I think everybody’s gonna be really happy with this album. I’m really taking my time with it. I’m not forcing any of this music; it has to live up to the title ‘King Push.'” (Montreality)
