Unfazed by the news, G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T scratched his head at the publicized announcement.

“Hey Anderson Cooper…we are all shocked buddy!! Smh, get back to work!!!!,” he tweeted July 2nd.

“Who the f*ck cares?? Why is that even an announcement to make?? They gotta start censoring the media for dumb sh*t like they censor albums.” (Pusha T’s Twitter)

Black Sheep’s Dres shared a similar stance and playfully pondered the impact his announcement could have on other celebrities.

“Anderson Cooper is happy…. we knew this,” he tweeted.

Funny gal actress Aisha Tyler joined in on the fun by downplaying the big news.

“Anderson Cooper came out today! In other news, hooray! and/or duh.” (Aisha Tyler’s Twitter)

Cooper officially announced his sexual preference Monday (July 2) morning.

“The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud,” he wrote in an email to The Daily Beast reporter Andrew Sullivan. In the email to Sullivan — a friend of Cooper’s for more than 20 years — the CNN anchor, who has long been rumored to be gay, said that he had decided not to publicly discuss his sexual orientation because he felt it could negatively impact his job as a reporter. “Even though my job puts me in the public eye, I have tried to maintain some level of privacy in my life,” he wrote. “I’ve also wanted to retain some privacy for professional reasons. For my safety and the safety of those I work with, I try to blend in as much as possible, and prefer to stick to my job of telling other people’s stories, and not my own. I have found that sometimes the less an interview subject knows about me, the better I can safely and effectively do my job as a journalist.” (13 ABC)
