Pusha revealed his interest in securing Storch came down to the producer’s knack for making “sophisticated” anthems.

“We did a joint with the Clipse called ‘Fast Life.’ And I just think–I came over here honestly simply because I feel like music is coming back [into] musicality. And people who are really skilled with it. On the keyboards. And sounds, it’s like sophisticated. And I mean, who else is better at sophisticated music than Scott Storch?” (“Mikey T The Movie Star”)

The Pusha Man treated fans to intimate in-studio photos alongside The Neptunes earlier this month.

The boys are back. In December, Pusha T spoke about his follow-up to My Name Is My Name, revealing he’ll be in the studio with his former running mates The Neptunes. The studio sessions would be a 20-day run starting Jan. 2, and true to his word, Pusha took some photos of Pharrell and Chad Hugo. Last month, Pusha revealed the LP would come together following a 20-day studio run with the music duo.

“I don’t know when I’m dropping the next one but I can tell everybody, January 2, me, Pharrell and Chad are going into the studio for 20 days,” Pusha revealed in an interview with hip-hop personailty Miss Info. “Chad the Ghost. Me, Pharrell and Chad are going into the studio for 20 days, in Miami, and that’s it. Like, that’s what’s going to start off the King Push album. Title is definitely King Push.” (Miss Info TV)

A few months ago, Pusha said G.O.O.D. Music head Kanye West wanted him to slim his debut LP down to no more than nine records.

“It’s twelve songs and I had to fight for twelve because it was only supposed to be nine,” Pusha revealed in an interview. “Ye only wanted nine records. And I was like, ‘I got twelve, man!’ [laughs] And my win was, ‘Man, Yeezus got ten songs, so how you only gonna give me nine?’ [laughs] Then he had to sort of think about it and be like, ‘All right, man.’ And he just let me get my artist thing off.” (NPR)
