While details on the project remain a mystery, its artwork has surfaced online this week.

Prodigy of Mobb Deep drops off the cover art for an upcoming solo effort. Mobb Deep recently announced a reunion album and tour as they celebrate the 20 years it’s been since the release of The Infamous. Prodigy is also working on a solo effort in the vein of The Infamous, with a new album titled The Most Infamous. The album is expected out in February 2014, while the joint effort titled The Infamous Mobb Deep is slated for March. (Hot New Hip Hop)

If all goes accordingly, Mobb Deep’s latest offering will arrive in the second quarter of 2014.

Mobb Deep have been back into the booth recording their eighth studio album for a good part of the year, but today the Queens-based duo announced that the album, The Infamous Mobb Deep, would be out this Spring. The package will contain one disc of all new material and one disc of unreleased tracks from the sessions from their sophomore album, 1995’s The Infamous. Additionally, Havoc and Prodigy will hit the road in less than a month, kicking off a 32-city U.S. tour on January 10 in San Diego, with additional international tour dates yet to be announced. The tour poster and dates are below. Havoc dropped a solo album, 13, earlier this year, while Prodigy linked up with frequent collaborator The Alchemist for a joint project called Albert Einstein. Last month, Prodigy said Mobb Deep plans were back in full effect with a group project in the works.

Prodigy also took a moment to share that his relationship with Havoc is back in a good place after reports of the two having issues surfaced last year. The pair reunited to embark on the nationwide Mobb Deep 20th Anniversary Tour this past spring. “Me and Hav, we’re like brothers,” says Prodigy. “We had a little disagreement that spilled out to the public, that was corny. But it what it is. We’re back on the road. We’re working on the next Mobb Deep album right now.” (AHH)

Earlier this year, MD’s Havoc revealed the upcoming LP was roughly halfway completed and would primarily feature his beats.

“Me and P been in the studio for the past month, we damn near got half of the next Mobb Deep album knocked out… On this new Mobb Deep album it’s just going to be all me [on the production] and less of somebody coming up with some s**t. I been f**king with Boi-1da a little bit too, he got some hot s**t, kinda meshing both of our sounds together, so that should be interesting.” (Miss Info TV)
