Prodigy Refuses To Quit Mobb Deep After Havoc Fallout [Video]

New York rap veteran Prodigy is refusing to give up on the Mobb Deep brand, promising fans can expect a return of his group’s music in the future despite his tarnished relationship with Havoc.

Rather than remove himself from the two-man crew, P said he will focus on his own ventures as the Mobb Deep tensions simmer down.

“Nah, nah, it’s just on standby,” Capital P said when asked if it is time to retire the Mobb Deep brand. “Yeah, I’m sure about that. I love Mobb Deep. Mobb Deep made my life what it is. Havoc feels the same way, so we’ll be right back to work. For right now, he’s doing his thing and I’m doing my thing. I’ve got goals I’m trying to accomplish, and I really can’t let nothing sidestep me or get in the way of that. If that means I gotta put Mobb Deep on standby for the time being, then so be it. That’s what has to happen.” (“Usual Suspects Radio”)

Last October, Prodigy denied Hav’s claim of possibly having affection toward men and spoke on the feud.

“Nah, you know Hav don’t deserve that,” Prodigy said in an interview when asked if Havoc deserves to get shot. “[Have I ever participated in any homosexual activity?] H*ll f*cking no! H*ll no. I’ma tell you like this, the only thing I can really say is, you know what I mean, what I’ve been doing since I came home [in spring 2011], putting books out, putting out albums, mixtapes, you know, I started my own lable, I got a distribution deal, running around, setting up these tours, getting merchandising deals, getting endorsement deals, that’s all I really know, dog. [Have I asked him about the disses?] Nah. I just want to work, man — shout-out ot Havoc too, shout-out ot Hav. Word. That’s my dog. [Anything else I want to tell people?] I don’t have anything against gay people, dog. I’ve got some family members that are gay, I know some people that are gay, I got a couple of gay friends.” (This Is 50)

A few months ago, buzz developed on Prodigy and Hav possibly ending their feud.

I got word from one of the AHH staffers that Mobb Deep may have ended the beef. You know, this is a beef none of us want to see, and we definitely want more music from P and Hav. Well, here is no need in BS’ing you. I hear the mess ain’t over yet. They are still at odds at this very moment. But, sources have revealed to me that these dudes don’t want to fight anymore and there are forces looking to bring them back together. Hip-Hop hopes this happens! (All Hip Hop Rumors)

In August, Hav released a music video for his perceived P diss track, “Separated (Real From The Fake).”

Two weeks back former Mobb Deep member Havoc released a new track from his solo EP blatantly ripping into his former partner and best friend Prodigy. Havoc never makes mention of Prodigy by name, but it’s easy to tell who the subject of his verbal attack is. Well now we have some visuals to aid us in our listen to the track, entitled Separated. Since Mobb Deep officiallySeparated a few weeks ago I have been in a state of Mobb Depression. I now find myself skipping all the Mobb Deep songs on my iPhone out of pure devastation.
