The forthcoming project’s new artwork surfaced online Tuesday (February 18).

Two months before its release, Mobb Deep reveals the album cover for “The Infamous Mobb Deep.” Check it out above, premiered here on The Juice. Mobb Deep is celebrating the 20-year anniversary of their “The Infamous” album (April, 1995) a year early, with the double disc CD, “The Infamous Mobb Deep.” The album, available in April, will feature new matrial (disc one) and a collection of unreleased tracks from their ’95 “The Infamous” sessions (disc two). “The Infamous Sessions” will feature unreleased verses from Ghostface, Nas, Raekwon. Last month, the rap duo unleashed a new track courtesy of New York radio station Hot 97.

Classic Queensbridge duo Mobb Deep got fans excited last month when the occasionally conflicting emcees, Prodigy and Havoc, announced a new studio album and a tour for 2014. They’ve been on the tour, and now they’re sharing the first glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming project, The Infamous Mobb Deep. Titled “Taking You Off Here,” the song premiered tonight on New York’s Hot 97. It hits the sweet spot for roughneck trash-talking that Mobb Deep fans love. And there’s plenty more of classic Mobb Deep on deck, too. As revealed in December, the album will bundle a re-release of the duo’s 1995 classic, The Infamous, with new songs and unreleased material from the original 1994 sessions. Featured guests will include Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Nas. (Complex)

Although brief with details, producer Boi-1da recently said reaching out to Havoc ultimately helped get the wheels rolling for his involvement on The Infamous Mobb Deep album.

“It’s new-age with that old Mobb twist to it,” says the Toronto producer of the new material. “I was a big fan of Mobb Deep and Havoc’s production, so I just reached out and me and him have been producing records together, sending stuff back and forth. I can say that I have some records on the new Mobb Deep album that me and Havoc did together. It’s something I knocked off my bucket list.” (VIBE)

If all goes accordingly, Mobb Deep’s latest offering will arrive in the second quarter of this year.

Mobb Deep have been back into the booth recording their eighth studio album for a good part of the year, but today the Queens-based duo announced that the album, The Infamous Mobb Deep, would be out this Spring. The package will contain one disc of all new material and one disc of unreleased tracks from the sessions from their sophomore album, 1995’s The Infamous. Additionally, Havoc and Prodigy will hit the road in less than a month, kicking off a 32-city U.S. tour on January 10 in San Diego, with additional international tour dates yet to be announced. The tour poster and dates are below. Havoc dropped a solo album, 13, earlier this year, while Prodigy linked up with frequent collaborator The Alchemist for a joint project called Albert Einstein.
