A collection of alleged letters from incarcerated rapper Prodigy have revealed the rapper’s thoughts on Rick Ross and Vibe magazine.
A letter emerged allegedly from P that speaks to fans’ misconceptions of entertainers.
“Now it’s the slavery of our minds covertly,” P writes. “There’s people out there who get the chills when they hear Rick Ross, like he’s something special. These are the kind of fools we’re dealing with…I was just reading Vibe Magazine‘s ‘Best Rapper Alive 2008′ article…Vibe says 920,000 people voted for it. I would personally b*tch slap all 920,000 of these voters if given the opportunity. Who in the f*ck picked Crooked I, Flo Rida and Rich Boy? How did Vibe approve this? In the back of the Vibe, they have a section called ’20 Questions,’ they actually try to imply that The Game‘s album LAX is better than 50 Cent‘s Massacre and Curtis…Basically people, we have a gang of herbs in positions of power.” (Hip Hop Stan)
P has written handfuls of leaked letters including last month’s “Moment of Clarity.”
“The exact moment in time when I discovered that the entire planet was being lied to and was put under a spell to keep us unaware of it, was back in 1996,” he previously wrote. “I was reading one of Dr. Malichi Z. York‘s books (can’t remember which one) I believe it was titled ‘Leviathan 666.’ I finished the book and started crying.” (HNIC 2)
Prodigy pleaded guilty October 2007 to gun possession which led to his current incarceration.
Mobb Deep rapper Prodigy has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars after pleading guilty to a weapons charge dating back to 2006. Authorities say Prodigy was pulled over in downtown Manhattan after he was spotted driving in the opposite direction on a one-way street in an attempt to claim a parking spot. A search of the car turned up an unlicensed .22-caliber pistol. He will begin his sentence Janary 2008. (Hip Hop Galaxy)
Upon being locked up, P released a statement informing fans of his goals while behind bars.
“While I’m locked up, I’m going to be writing lyrics, working on the script for my second feature film, Dope, and finish writing an autobiography of my life which will be finished by the time I’m released,” Prodigy previously wrote. “My mind is going to be focused and I’ll have time to think and map out my entire plan. The experience will make me a tougher, stronger person. I’m gonna work on getting out faster, so I can get back to doing what I do best. When I get home, it’s gonna be on.” (Statement)
